Examination success – GCSE Results Summer 2023
We would like to congratulate our students on their results and thank the staff for their hard work in supporting our students’ achievement. Congratulations and well done to the class of 2023 on their results this year. Year 11 GCSE Results Day is always a cause for celebration for many students and we were delighted to welcome our students back and celebrate their achievements with them and their families on Thursday 24th August. We are proud of each student as they have faced more disruption and change than any other previous cohort of students and faced many challenges at an individual level. In line with the national picture in England, results have dipped across main headline measures to pre-pandemic years.
Catherine Hughes, Headteacher, paid tribute to the great dedication and commitment of students, staff and parents.
I wish to pay tribute to the Class of 2023 for their hard-work, determination, and their resilience, many in the face of significant adversity. They have faced more challenges than any previous cohort of Loreto students. Their results are the testimony to the hard work across the school community and I am proud of each one of our young people. I would like to thank our staff and our parents for supporting our students through incredibly challenging times and helping them overcome any difficulties they may have faced. Our students have grown stronger and more resilient as a result of the past few years and have adapted to new ways of learning and working and have learnt new skills along the way. We endeavour to ensure that all students, at every level, have a good foundation for their future careers and our school is committed to supporting our students to be the best they can be. We are confident that they will benefit from having been part of the rich cultural experience that is the Loreto worldwide community. We look forward to hearing about their future successes as they embark on the next phase of their lives. Congratulations to all.
Our students achieved over 200 top grades and grade 9s were awarded across a range of subjects.
